Wages make you a living. Profits make you a fortune.

Hello,

This year is almost over. What a full year it has been. I have spent the entire year with my head buried in books, going to seminars, and learning new things. I've had many successes and some losses in my life and the net result was my life wasn't where I wanted it to be. There had to be something I was missing. I had to unplug and look to different sources of information. I needed a different way of thinking.

I started with re-reading the book that started me on the journey of my last success. This was Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. Next I read Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill. It opened the flood gates because it started an insatiable appetite to learn again. After that I read almost every book in the Rich Dad series. This also lead me to discover works by Stephen Covey, Seth Godin, Stephen Pierce, Les Brown, Anthony Robins, Reginald F Lewis, Donald Trump, Sandy Botkin and Jim Rohn to name a few.

The title of this post is from a clip of Jim Rohn. This clip is full of good quotes. Here are some that stuck out to me:
"To reach the things on the top self you must stand on the books you read"
"Profits are better than wages"
"Work full time to make a living but work part time to make a fortune"

I see the world and especially finances through a different lense. This is the information age and it takes a different skill set to get ahead then when I grew up. It's also up to me to continue to seek information to grow and expand. Once you stop growing you start dieing.

There has never been a better time and a more necessary time to start your own business. We all have bills and responsibilities but make time to build your fortune!

Enjoy the clip!
